Madiha is a quiet stretch of coast just outside Matara, with rocks, a rolling sea and very few visitors. It is a place to see the working coast rather than a resort, and it suits a short stop on the way along the south coast.
The rocky shore is better for walking and photographs than for swimming. Polhena beach, with its sheltered reef, and the fort and temple in Matara are a short drive away.
