Pigeon Island National Park is a small island off the east coast near Nilaveli, with white sand, clear water and a coral reef. It is one of the island's marine national parks and a favourite for snorkelling.
Boats leave from Nilaveli, and the best time is usually the calmer months, roughly May to September. Small reef sharks and many reef fish are often seen. Do not touch the coral.
